Omega-3 Fish Oil

Softgels of concentrated fish oil, measured by the EPA and DHA on the label rather than the total oil. Nordic Naturals is the reference brand; lemon-flavoured ones don't repeat.

What it’s for

One of the two or three supplements almost every diet plan lists, and the one where quality differences are real and visible on the label.

What to check in the listing

Ignore '1000 mg fish oil' on the front and add up the EPA and DHA on the back; a good softgel carries 500 mg or more of the two together, a cheap one 300. Keep the bottle in the fridge once opened — rancid fish oil is what gives the supplement its reputation.

Supplements are food, not medicine: nothing here treats or prevents anything. If you take any medicine, ask a pharmacist first.

FormCapsulesForm is how it arrives: something to swallow, something to stir into a drink, something to eat, or the kit that goes with them rather than a supplement itself.
PriceMid-rangePrice tier is the rough position within its category, not a live price: budget is the cheapest sensible option, premium costs more for a reason the page explains.
