Do you sell peptides?

No — we're an accessories store. We carry the supplies around peptides (water, syringes, storage, travel gear), and every order is fulfilled by Amazon. More about how the store works.

What's the difference between bacteriostatic water and sterile water?

Both are sterile. Bacteriostatic water adds 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which stops bacteria growing after the seal is first punctured — that's why an opened vial is generally considered good for about 28 days. Plain sterile water has no preservative and is meant for single use. Full comparison here.

Do I need a prescription to buy insulin syringes?

It depends where you live, and the rules differ a lot. In most US states they're sold over the counter, though a handful of states add restrictions. In the UK, EU, Canada and Australia, pharmacy rules vary by country and some sell them only in person. Amazon applies whatever restrictions it holds for your delivery address at checkout, and we have no ability to bypass them. Treat that as a shipping control rather than a legal opinion, though — an order going through is not confirmation that you have met your local rules, so check your own state or country's guidance if you are unsure.

Can I fly with syringes, vials, and ice packs?

Generally yes, with one condition people miss: syringes are allowed when they travel with the injectable medication, identified by its original labeled vial, packaging or prescription label. Cold packs used to keep medication cool get a medical exemption and are allowed even if they've gone slushy (ordinary frozen items have to be frozen solid), and medically necessary liquids are exempt from the 100 ml limit — just declare them at the checkpoint. Keeping everything together in a medical travel case makes it quicker. The details vary by country and airline, so check both before you fly.

How should mixed vials be stored?

The usual target is normal fridge temperature — 2–8 °C (36–46 °F) — away from light, and not in the door shelf (it's the warmest, most-jostled spot). A min/max thermometer is the only way to know your fridge actually holds that range. Always follow the labeling of the specific product you're storing.

Why don't all products show a photo and price?

Product photos and prices on our cards come straight from Amazon's official API with a freshness timestamp — that's the only way Amazon allows affiliates to display them, and we follow it to the letter. Products we haven't wired up yet show our illustration instead, and one click always shows the live listing with its photos and current price.

Do you make money when I buy something?

Yes — we're an Amazon Associate, and qualifying purchases through our links pay us a small commission. Your price is identical either way. That commission is the site's only revenue; nobody pays us for placement or reviews. Full disclosure.

Which syringe size should I buy?

Most people start with 31G 0.5 mL insulin syringes for everyday small doses, plus 3 mL luer-lock syringes with blunt fill needles for mixing. Our syringe guide explains gauge numbers and unit markings in two minutes.

What do I do with used needles?

They go in a certified rigid sharps container — US listings say FDA-cleared, UK and Australian ones cite BS 7320 or AS 4031 — never loose in household trash. When it's full, the usual routes are a community drop-off site, a mail-back program, or household hazardous waste collection; some pharmacies take them too, though fewer than people expect. Rules are set locally, so your city or county waste page is the authority.

Are the products you link to sterile?

Where sterility matters — water, syringes, needles, swabs, gauze — we link to listings sold as sterile, individually sealed products. Always double-check the specific listing before buying, since Amazon listings can change hands; our picking tips on each card tell you what to look for.

Do you ship internationally?

We don't ship anything — Amazon does, from your own country's store. Use the region picker at the top of the shop: it points every link at your local Amazon (amazon.ca, amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, and so on) and shows prices in your own currency wherever we have live local data. If a product isn't sold in your store, the button opens the closest search there instead.

Does bacteriostatic water need to be refrigerated?

No — the manufacturer's label puts it at controlled room temperature, 20–25 °C (68–77 °F), and that does not change once the seal is punctured. The 28-day figure is a room-temperature figure; it is not a reason to refrigerate, and chilling it is not what the label asks for. Whatever the bottle's own labeling says wins over any advice online, including ours.

How long does unopened bacteriostatic water last?

Usually a couple of years from manufacture, but don't work from that — the printed expiry date on the bottle is the actual answer, and it's the only one that accounts for how that batch was made and stored. Our shelf-life guide covers the three different ways supplies expire.

Can I reuse a needle or syringe?

No. A needle blunts on its first pass, so a second use hurts more, and it's no longer sterile. A blunted tip also raises the risk of coring — punching a small fragment out of the rubber stopper and into the liquid. Fresh needle, every single time; that's the standard everywhere it's written down. Used ones go straight into a sharps container.

Can I take bacteriostatic water through airport security?

Ordinary vial sizes (10–30 mL) are comfortably under the 100 mL / 3.4 oz carry-on limit, so it isn't an issue in the first place. Larger medically necessary liquids are exempt from that limit anyway — declare them at the checkpoint. The flying guide has the full picture, including the syringe rule people get caught by.

How much water should I add to a vial?

That's set by the labeling or the clinician who supplied it, not by us — and it changes the concentration rather than the amount in the vial. Is a higher gauge number a thicker or a thinner needle?

Thinner. Gauge runs backwards from what most people expect: a 31G needle is finer than a 30G, which is finer than a 25G. The scale originally counted how many tubes fitted through a fixed opening, so more of them meant each one was narrower. In practice the insulin syringes people use day to day sit at 29G–31G, pen needles are usually 31G or 32G, and the chunky 18G blunt needles in the mixing section are for drawing liquid out of a vial — never for injecting.

Can I use distilled or boiled tap water instead of bacteriostatic water?

No. Distilled water, filtered water and boiled tap water are none of them sterile in the sense that matters here, and distilled water in particular is sold for irons and car batteries rather than for anything going into a vial. Bacteriostatic water and sterile water for injection are manufactured, tested and sealed as sterile products, and they are cheap — this is not a corner worth cutting. If cost is the issue, buy the smaller bottle rather than a substitute.

Do alcohol prep pads expire?

Yes, and the more common problem is that they dry out. Each pad is a sealed foil sachet holding a measured amount of 70% alcohol; once that seal is imperfect the alcohol evaporates and what is left is a damp square of nothing in particular. Boxes carry an expiry date, but check the pad itself — if it does not feel properly wet when you open it, bin it. This is the main reason we point at individually wrapped pads rather than a tub, since a tub dries from the top down and you will not notice until the last few.

Do I actually need gloves?

For most people doing this at home, no — clean hands, a wiped surface and swabbed stoppers do the real work, and gloves worn badly are worse than no gloves at all, because they feel clean while touching everything. Where they genuinely earn their place is mixing several vials in one sitting, or any situation where you would otherwise be washing your hands every ninety seconds. If you do use them, nitrile avoids the latex allergy question and powder-free avoids leaving residue on a stopper.

How do I know when a sharps container is full?

There is a fill line moulded or printed on the side, usually about three-quarters of the way up, and that is the point to stop — not the neck of the container. The gap matters: a container filled to the brim cannot be closed without pushing against what is inside it, which is exactly the moment people get hurt. When it reaches the line, seal the lid permanently and take it to a drop-off point or use a mail-back kit. Do not decant it into something else, and do not put it in the recycling.
