Gentle Iron (bisglycinate)
Iron bound to glycine, the form sold as 'gentle iron'. 20 to 28 mg capsules, often with vitamin C to help it absorb.
- Bisglycinate form
- 20–28 mg
- With vitamin C
Why you’d want it: The kind people choose when ordinary iron tablets upset their stomach. Small meals are the classic way to run low.
Picking tip: Iron is the one supplement worth a blood test before you start: too much is as bad as too little, and it is stored, not flushed. Take it away from coffee, tea, calcium and dairy (two hours apart) and with a little vitamin C. Keep it out of children's reach; iron tablets are dangerous to small kids.
Supplements are food, not medicine: nothing here treats or prevents anything. If you take any medicine, ask a pharmacist first.
