What it’s for

An extra cleanliness step some people use when transferring liquid between vials.

What to check in the listing

0.22 micron is the usual choice. Check it's luer-lock rather than push-on, and that the listing names the membrane — unnamed ones are the ones that tear.

PriceMid-rangePrice tier is the rough position within its category, not a live price: budget is the cheapest sensible option, premium costs more for a reason the page explains.

SterileYesSterile means individually sealed and sterile until opened; anything that touches the inside of a vial or your skin should be.

If you're not sure which water a vial needs, or how long an opened bottle lasts, read Bac water vs sterile water vs saline (and which to buy) first.
