Lighted Magnifying Glass

A lighted magnifying glass: a hand-held lens with LED lights built into the rim, so syringe markings are lit and enlarged together when the light is poor. Around 3× is the useful strength.

What it’s for

For reading small lines on a syringe when the light is bad or the eyes aren't what they were. Bigger and brighter than the clip-on magnifier.

What to check in the listing

Around 3× is the useful strength; the 10× and 30× lenses sold on the same handle have such a small sweet spot that they're harder to use, not easier. Wide lens, lit rim, and a handle you can hold steady — that's the whole spec.

If the numbers in a syringe listing don't mean much yet, read How to read an insulin syringe first.
